Will someone here be generous enough to post a clip or two of Vinnie from this DVD?

I had my words via email with Carlos when this dvd was first talked about, i felt how they/he were promoting it was very misleading.
As to a clip, it's not worth the trouble, if seeing Vinnie is what you want, watch the Gadd tribute. The few clips on this dvd are not worth it, matter fact, 1 is in slow motion.

I got my DVD two days ago and watched it last night. I have to concur with Randy it's pretty dissapointing. After having a cursory look at it, here are my thoughts.

error 404: vinnie not found

what the hell happened. the general format is this guy, carlos or whatever talks about the drummer coming up next (which btw, talks slower than the overly exaggerated slow-talking impression of al gore done on snl). anyway, then the artist will share how jesus has affected their lives and then they'll cut to a clip of them playing for the crowd on hand. well this is the format in every case except for vinnie. on his segment, they just show him talking to the audience for a minute, mainly thanking the event planners for putting on such a wonderful event, and then.......

he expresses a "lack of surprise" or downright dissapointment about an appearance on a drum video in which his closing statements, where he gives praise to the lord and saviour jesus christ, were not included in the final cut of the dvd. he also says, this event was mainly attended by people," who were not necessarily theere to praise the lord."

could he be referring to the md fest weekend vid?

the lack of vinnie air time on the disc left me begging the questions.....

was this peculiar vinne segment format done like this intentionally?

was it requested?

did vinnie have input on the editing?

was he intentionally not shown that much as to send a message that this event was "not about him"?

did the camera run out of film?

some other video highlights and lowlights:

james mccurly: this guy laid down the shiz. if i have to look at the positive side of plucking down my 20 spot for this vid, this is it. there are some things i definetely want to learn from this guys playing.

louis santiago jr. (winner of some md unknown drummer contest): awesome entusiasm! nice ideas!inspiring to watch. groove is a little under-developed and shaky at times but hes only been playing for 5 years. gonna be cool to see how his playing matures.

will kennedy: (yawn) had to hit the next track button. and i like will kennedy! four corners by the yellow jackets is one of my favorite cd's. i guess i like listening to him more than watching him.

alex acuna: slaps on a wooden box for 5 minutes then gets behind the set and plays the same stuff he did on that old zildjian day in n.y. vid. but only not as good.

paul leim: ummm. good groove? nice guy? works a lot? easy to work with? gets it "done" in the studio. ok. cool. why is he on here?

sheila e.: no drum set playing. just sings. but backs up other artists on perc.

there were some other cats on here too but nothing that really stood out as being exceptionally good (or bad).

all in all, this is clearly NOT a drumming video. it seems there is a clear agenda here to say look, your favorite drum stars are on fire for jesus, why shouldn't you be too. this is not necessarily a bad thing. it just is what it is. for those of you thinking about buying this vid to see clips of your beloved vince, save your money and go buy karizma/document instead!

or better yet take a friend out to lunch. your money would be better spent. [img]wink.gif[/img]

"Drum"umentary, as they call it. I wonder if the use of quotes is to denote that the use of the term drum is not what you would initially suspect.

Maybe they were literally drumming for jesus and not other drummers who might like to see them perform. Boy, I hope jesus wasn't disappointed.

Or maybe the term drumming for jesus refers to them drumming up business for the guy who is selling all that crap with the "pretty" world on them.

By the way, I wonder what the money goes for, not that I investigated or anything. I'm just speculating that maybe jesus needed a new boat or something and this was a good way people would be inspired to send money to help him out.
